Fox Trail Complexities
Spike feet. The tender trail light in light snow, a hoof print, a foot print on Big Paw Peak. The forest-mind reaching in roots to my boot tread. Switchback after switchback, we know our home's depth, dark in soil heft and granite thunk. We skirt the summit regularly, not for sweat, but for sacred loneliness, for tender paths.
