Soon after high school my friend moved to the islands, chasing bigger waves, a better high, and a different kind of day to day. Thousands of miles apart, we rarely see each other now. Yet here we are, toes in the sand, watching the sets break over the reef, and talking story as if thirty years ago was yesterday and we can still iron out all those wrinkles.
